Counselling becomes very important when HIV/AIDS is a reality.  It is important to understand the impact that HIV/AIDS has on the psychological as well as physiological aspects of a person.

For most people who are informed that they are HIV positive it is a very traumatic experience. It is of utmost importance to be assisted by means of counselling in order to understand ones feelings as well as future life style changes that need to take place.  It is a fact that HIV/AIDS does not only affect the person infected it is also traumatic for the rest of the family.

Although the course of the illness cannot be stopped but by receiving proper counselling assistance one can re-direct ones future by embracing all the opportunities that could ensure that one live in the most positive and optimal way with the disease. Everybody is entitled to pre- and post-test counselling.
